Phi Delta Theta Foundation Trustee awarded with Legion of Merit

The Legion of Merit Award honors those outstanding members of our Fraternity who have made a lifelong commitment to the service of Phi Delta Theta. The recipients of this award are not only living testimony that Phi Delta Theta is a “Fraternity for Life,” but they are also the men who give this phrase meaning for so many of us.

Sam Furrow was initiated into Phi Delta Theta on September 13, 1963 as Bond #1 by the Tennessee Gamma Chapter at the University of Tennessee.

Brother Sam Furrow has served the Tennessee Gamma Chapter as Chapter Adviser, and has also served Phi Delta Theta as a Province President and as an Alumni Club President. In 1992, the Fraternity awarded him the Raymond L. Gardner Alumnus of the Year Award. Brother Furrow served as a member of the Phi Delta Theta Foundation’s Board of Trustees from 2002 to 2011.

In addition to his two degrees from the University of Tennessee, Brother Furrow is a graduate of Repperts School of Auctioneering and the Certified Auctioneers Institute of Indiana University.
