Statement of Standards of Responsibility
The high principles which constitute the foundation of Phi Delta Theta are clearly stated in The Bond, a
document signed by every initiated member. It is the goal of the General Fraternity that these principles become part of the daily life of each member, and in this way the high principles will be an important
factor in regulating daily behavior. The principles of The Bond are not lived in isolation but form the base for an organized brotherhood in which members will mutually support each other in the concrete living
situations of daily life. The principles articulated in The Bond of Phi Delta Theta, summarized as friendship, sound learning, and moral rectitude, can find application in a variety of areas. These areas and
the concrete application of the principles can be summarized as follows:
- Intellectual Development
- Membership Recruitment
- Membership Education
- Financial Management
- Alumni Relations
- Social Program
- Property Management
